Project Manager - Heavy Duty Gas Turbine
Job Description Summary
At GE Vernova, we're powering the energy transition - and the people who make that happen are project leaders who can deliver complex, high-stakes infrastructure with precision and purpose.
As a Project Manager within our Gas Power business, you will take end-to-end ownership of Heavy Duty Gas Turbine (HDGT) project delivery - from the moment a project transitions from proposal to execution, through to successful handover to Power Services. You will be accountable for outcomes that matter: on-time delivery, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and team success.
If you're someone who finds energy in solving hard problems, leading cross-functional teams, and building lasting relationships with customers and partners, this is your opportunity to make an impact at scale.
Job Description
What You'll Do
You will lead the full lifecycle of project execution for allocated HDGT scope, working across civil construction, mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation, and commissioning. Your key responsibilities include:
- Own project delivery end-to-end - apply the project execution strategy to deliver within contract specifications, schedule, budget, and cash targets, and ensure proper handover from the Order to Remittance (OTR) project team to Power Services.
- Lead compliance and risk management - ensure adherence to GE Vernova's Spirit & Letter, Golden Rules, local regulations, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards; manage permitting requirements and interfaces with local authorities.
- Drive commercial and claims management - define and execute claim strategies with customers, consortium partners, contractors, and sub-suppliers; manage risks and opportunities with clear, actionable plans
- Manage schedule and project controls - develop, maintain, and evolve the overall project schedule for allocated scope; use schedule data to optimize work, track progress, and resolve emerging issues proactively.
- Lead and inspire your team - communicate a clear vision of project objectives, create an environment that enables peak performance, and manage relationships across customers, partners, and subcontractors at all levels
- Support subcontracting and procurement - contribute to construction subcontracting strategy and the selection and procurement of main site subcontractors.
- Report and capture learnings - support the Project Director with progress and financial reporting, flag key risks early, and capture lessons learned and best practices for continuous improvement.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned project leader with a strong commercial mindset and a track record of delivering complex power infrastructure projects. You bring the right mix of technical credibility, stakeholder influence, and operational discipline to lead high-performing teams in demanding environments.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university - or equivalent professional experience in a related field
- Significant experience in project management within an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Power Plant, Oil & Gas or other mega infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Mandarin (required for effective stakeholder engagement); strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Demonstrated experience negotiating complex contracts with sound commercial understanding of project feasibility and power market dynamics
- Proven Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) leadership experience in challenging project environments
Preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification
- Demonstrated track record of delivering or improving project margins
- Experience working in a matrix organization across global or regional teams
