The Product Project Manager Assistant supports Project Managers and business unit stakeholders in the financial and administrative follow-up of projects, while also providing support for procurement-related activities within the unit.
The role contributes to project profitability, budget reliability, cost control, supplier commitment tracking, and the continuous improvement of processes across project teams, procurement, and finance.
This position sits at the crossroads of project management, operations, finance, and procurement, with a strong focus on coordination, financial analysis, and decision support.
Project & procurement support for the Business unit
- Provide support in monitoring procurement spend and supplier commitments.
- Ensure consistency between purchase requests, purchase orders, goods/services receipt, and invoices.
- Monitor procurement budgets in coordination with Project Managers and internal stakeholders.
- Support the maintenance and follow-up of supplier data, contracts, and purchasing terms.
- Contribute to supplier cost control and the identification of optimization opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement procedures and approval rules.
- Act as an interface between project teams, procurement, finance, and suppliers on administrative and financial topics.

Project financial support to Project Managers
- Support Project Managers in the financial follow-up of their projects.
- Prepare and update budgets, forecasts, and estimates at completion.
- Monitor committed costs, actual spending, revenues, margins, and project cash flow.
- Analyze variances between budget, forecast, and actuals, and highlight potential deviations or risks.
- Participate in project reviews and provide clear, relevant financial analysis.
- Track financial risks, opportunities, and provisions related to projects.
- Contribute to monthly closing activities and project reporting.
- Ensure the quality and reliability of financial data in management systems and tools.
- Controlling support for the business unit
- Contribute to the overall financial monitoring of the business unit in coordination with management and finance teams.
- Consolidate and analyze data related to costs, margins, expenses, and commitments.
- Prepare regular reporting and ad hoc analyses to support decision-making.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking processes.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of controlling tools and processes.
Profile and qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Controlling, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in controlling, operational finance, project support, or financial administration.
- Prior experience in a project environment and/or exposure to procurement processes is a strong asset.
- Good understanding of budgeting, cost tracking, and financial control principles.
- Strong Excel skills; knowledge of an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.) is preferred.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, French is a plus.
