Power Systems - Electrical cabinets design engineer
Job Description Summary
The Electrical cabinets design engineer is in charge of design and development of electrical cabinets across the full product lifecycle. This role is responsible for delivering robust, reliable and manufacturable design from concept through validation, serial production and operation/service life.
The Electrical cabinets design engineer will be responsible for the complete lifecycle ownership of electrical cabinets in the wind turbine, ensuring designs meet technical safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Also, this role will focus on reliability and turbine performance following a continuous improvement approach. This role requires strong engineering judgment, collaboration, and a proactive approach to validation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
The candidate will work functionally with colleagues across the global Power Systems team, with Principal Engineers, Technical Leader, design and validation engineers. This role will be comfortable working across functions, within Engineering and cross-functionally with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Projects and Services teams.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Design, own, and execute the development of electrical cabinets from concept through validation, serial production, and service life, ensuring full lifecycle ownership.
• Act as the focal point for support to all relevant business functions, including sourcing, manufacturing, projects, and services.
• Serve as the focal point for site support activities, including PAC, RCA, and NC, to drive turbine reliability and performance improvements.
• Own RE-120 for electrical cabinets, ensuring compliance and consistent application in design and execution.
• Apply SQDC principles in all work performed to support safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Ensure lessons learned, as well as quality and safety improvements, are systematically integrated into the design process.
• Own component validation activities, including the development of test procedures and coordination of validation execution.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable and cost-effective electrical cabinets solutions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to standardization, design optimization, and enhanced product performance.
• Self management of daily operations to achieve on time priorities scheduled with the technical leader.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5 years experience in electrical design activity.
Preferred Profile
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills for technical issue resolution.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics, components, and BOMs.
• Experience in wind, power generation, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.
• Able to travel to wind farms and climb turbines.
