Parts Engineer
Job Description Summary
Parts Engineer will be responsible for part definition flow Steam turbine, generator and Balance of Plant parts and will drive item master part maintenance activities for Flow, Eng Flow lines.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities/ Execution:
• Identify newly created part numbers and accurately complete engineering part definition attributes in a timely manner
• Maintain engineering part definition attributes required to process requests for part
• Contact qualified Vendors in order to identify and / or validate part definition, price and availability
• Contact Material Planers to identify supply routes for capital parts (internal vs external)
• Customer Issue resolution, deals with all Parts Operations entities (Sourcing, Order Management, Sales, Services Managers, Technical Advisors, Design and Manufacturing Engineering).
• Verify applicability and fit of critical customer requests to application.
• Perform Inter changeability and form / fit / function reviews on part requests.
• Support quality issue resolution, dealing with Customer concerns and COQ.
• Provide support to internal and external customers in support of sales initiatives.
• Attend working meetings and provide an update on open cases.
• Continuous improvements to processes.
• Drive projects that improve/develop spare parts lists accuracy.
• Follow EHS rules and warn others to follow the rules, execute mandatory EHS trainings and immediately report the incidents and near misses as required.
• Further tasks not involved in this Job Description that the immediate leader/manager assigns either verbally or in writing.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Technical University or College Degree - in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Engineering or Mechatronics
• Ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical documentation such as technical drawings, Bill of Materials, material specifications, electrical schematic diagrams, system block diagrams
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)

• Must be fluent in Writing/Speaking/Reading in English
• Must be fluent in Writing/Speaking/Reading in Hungarian
• Strong oral, written and telephonic communications skills in English
• Ability to quickly and effectively learn business operating systems
• Utilizes initiative and independent judgment in the performance of daily work tasks
• Ability to properly prioritize expected work and execute assigned tasks
• Ability to work in a matrix environment
• Show ability to work in a cohesive, cooperative and professional manner
• Ability to communicate and integrate across functions within the business
Desired Characteristics:
• Experience with PLM, sBOM, ERP Alpha and RPDM is an advantage (GE employees only)
• Relevant experience in the filed of steam turbines and generators is an advantage
• Ability to design, sell, and implement process improvements
• Detail oriented, organized, conscientious team player with strong sense of ownership
