Job Description Summary

Site Operations Manager

We are seeking a Site Operations Manager for Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm, based at the Dogger Bank O&M base in South Shields, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager .

You will be leading safe, efficient day-to-day site operations in support of one of the world's largest Offshore wind developments.

This role will be specifically focused on the corrective scopes of the SOV's across the Phases of Dogger Bank. Strong Wind technical knowledge will be critical as will your leadership style to enable us to drive successful delivery.
European, Offshore and International Travel will be a requirement.

Part of your induction you will spend time offshore to truly understand our business and our innovative technology. By understanding what is happening , you will be able to bring about change and new solutions to our ever-growing Operation.

  • Ensure safe site maintenance operations are carried out, with high standards of quality, delivered to budget and according to the defined schedule, recording and tracking relevant KPIs and reporting on progress, deviations to plans and mitigations.
  • Exemplify GE Leadership Behaviours - Act with Humility, Lead with Transparency, Deliver with Focus
  • Champion for GE Lean program, introducing and implementing LEAN principles.
  • Establish new Operational Windfarms to setup for future Operational success.
  • Lead implementation of Response Plans according to Operator and GE policies with the support of required stakeholders, accountable for incident investigations in area of responsibility.
  • Lead the operational team(s) who are located at Operational wind farms and Service operation vessels. Be accountable for the execution of all service-related activities with respect to SQDC within your area of responsibility.
  • Be the point of contact for the customer representative on all day-to-day matters for your area of responsibility and create the customer monthly report.
  • Approve the rotation plans for scope delivery and resourcing for your areas of responsibility, managing and mitigating potential deviations to SQDC targets.
  • Support recruitment and talent development model to ensure continual improvement and progression for high performing technical and nontechnical Operational roles.
  • Facilitate Authorisation panels and Approve technician competence development.
  • Feedback on Offshore Team performance and support performance improvement as required.
  • Support the establishment of the training requirements, competency framework and Safe System of Work governance process.

Travel Expectations

  • Principally onshore based at the Port of Tyne, South Shields
  • The role requires international travel.
  • Ability and willingness to work offshore as required.

Education / Professional Experience

  • Degree in an engineering discipline or professional education / apprenticeship in a technical discipline with extensive professional experience.
  • Significant experience of Wind , ideally 'Offshore' Wind Maintenance operations
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment, with remote teams as a strong team player who can enable change and get work over the line.

Language(s):

  • Fluency in English language

Technical knowledge and skills

  • High motivation level; self-starter with strong leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve problems in a structured manner.
  • Established project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading technician teams.
