What impact you'll make
As a Nuclear Services Field Engineer of the Nuclear Services organization within GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy, you will be an active contributor to the successful execution of BWR 2-6 reactor disassembly and assembly activities, safe fuel movement operations, and delivery of high-quality in-core and under-vessel maintenance services during customer outages.

Job Description

What you'll do

  • Support nuclear power plant outages and on-site service activities at customer locations in Europe and the U.S., including participation in multiple outages each year that require extended travel.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute field service projects during customer outages, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Provide on-site technical leadership, coordinating daily activities and supervising field teams and contractors during outage execution.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customer and supplier leadership, addressing technical, operational, and compliance matters.
  • Support local nuclear service operations in Spain between outages, including planning activities, cost estimates, and customer coordination.
  • Provide expertise in the use and maintenance of specialized tools and equipment at customer nuclear facilities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying customer needs, operational improvements, and service opportunities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Collaborate with broader field service teams to support nuclear service projects and operational goals.

What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Knowledge and experience in plant operations or outage services, with first-line supervisory experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Knowledge of boiling water reactor vessels and components, nuclear steam supply systems, and reactor containment structures.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling tools
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, with willingness to travel up to 65% of the time to support projects in Spain, the United States, Mexico, and Switzerland.

  • Prior experience supporting outage or service activities at the Cofrentes and/or Garoña nuclear power plants.
