Job Description Summary
The North America Logistics Leader - Major Component Exchanges (MCE) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all logistics operations that support major component exchanges across the North American wind fleet. This includes the safe and efficient transport of large components (blades, gearboxes, generators, hubs, and main shafts), cranes, tooling, and support equipment between project sites. The Logistics Leader ensures cost-effective, timely, and compliant movement of materials and resources while maintaining alignment with project schedules and customer requirements.

• Develop and lead regional logistics strategies supporting all MCE
operations in North America.
• Forecast logistics needs aligned with site schedules, seasonal demand, and resource availability.
• Partner with Operations, Scheduling, and Project Management teams to optimize transportation sequencing and minimize downtime.
• Transportation & Equipment Coordination
• Manage heavy haul and crane logistics, ensuring compliance with DOT, provincial, and local transport regulations.
• Oversee mobilization and demobilization of large cranes, component
trailers, and tooling assets.
• Validate routing, permitting, and transport readiness for all moves.
• Vendor & Partner Management
• Lead commercial and performance relationships with logistics suppliers, crane companies, and freight partners.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and delivery standards.
• Negotiate rates and service agreements to drive cost efficiencies.
• Operational Execution
• Track daily logistics execution across active projects, identifying risks and resolving bottlenecks.
• Support real-time decision-making for load sequencing, crane mobilization, and site readiness.
• Maintain a logistics dashboard to communicate asset locations, transport status, and cost performance.
• Safety & Compliance
• Drive adherence to all EHS standards in logistics and transportation operations.
• Ensure proper documentation, permits, and load securement per regulatory requirements.
• Participate in incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leadership & Team Development
• Lead a small logistics coordination team or matrixed resources supporting the MCE business.
• Provide training, mentorship, and standard process development for logistics excellence.
• Foster collaboration between field teams, planners, and vendors.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (Supply chain preferred)
- Proven Experience in Managing/supervising remote employees
- 7+ years of logistics or operations management experience in wind energy, heavy industry, or large-scale construction
- Proven expertise in heavy haul, crane logistics, or major component transportation.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, permitting, and load routing
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels
- Proficiency in logistics tracking systems, ERP, and project scheduling tools (e.g., SAP, Primavera, MS Project).
Preferred:
• PhD degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
• Experience leading logistics for heavy lift operations.
• Background in vendor performance management and cost control initiatives.
• Certified in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
Performance Metrics:
• On-time delivery of major components and cranes.
• Reduction in logistics-related downtime and cost per move.
• Compliance rate for transport permitting and EHS standards.
• Vendor performance and cost optimization.
• Logistics asset utilization efficiency.
Work Environment:
• Must be available for after-hours coordination to support time-sensitive movements.
• Hybrid position with coordination across multiple time zones.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $142,300.00 and $237,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: ineligible.
