Yesterday Tampere, Finland

Job Description Summary

Job Description

Location: Tampere, Finland

GE Vernova's Grid Solutions business serves customers globally with over 17,000 employees in more than 80 countries. Grid Solutions helps enable the transition to a more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy system by bringing together advanced technologies and expertise across the power grid value chain. The business provides equipment, systems, and services for the transmission, distribution, and conversion of electricity, supporting utilities and industries in building the grid of the future.

In Tampere, our teams contribute to the development of Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) and STATCOM solutions, which play an important role in improving power system stability, voltage control, and grid performance. These technologies are essential for integrating renewable energy, increasing transmission efficiency, and supporting the evolving needs of modern power systems.

We are offering several opportunities for students who want to begin with a summer internship and continue with an MSc thesis in the autumn. These positions are intended only for MSc thesis workers following this schedule. The openings are suitable for students in electrical engineering, automation, software engineering, embedded systems, applied AI, or power electronics who are looking to combine practical summer work with a thesis topic that has real business relevance.

When applying, please select the two domains you are most interested in and rank them in priority order. This helps us evaluate your application against the most relevant opportunities.

If you are a more experienced candidate looking for a regular engineering role rather than an MSc thesis opportunity, we kindly ask you to apply for other suitable openings through our jobs portal.
