Job Description Summary

The Mechanical Sourcing Leader is a critical member of the Wind Sourcing Leadership Team. The role leads a global team responsible for mechanical components across a global supply chain and customer footprint. You will be responsible to partner with key stakeholders to build a differentiated strategy and drive execution through the value chain.

Job Description

  • Owns a large global sourcing strategy including cross-functional alignment with product, engineering, and manufacturing
  • Leads a significant global spend delivering on cost, quality, delivery, safety, and supplier performance metrics
  • Drives Lean across the commodity value stream including building/executing lean roadmap, implementing standard work, and continuous improvement
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global sourcing team, ensuring alignment, accountability, and execution excellence
  • Partners with Product Management on component product cost targets that deliver profitable products to the market. Owns should-cost models, sourcing strategies, and design-to-cost initiatives
  • Own supplier selection and negotiation strategy, ensuring commercial terms and contract structures support long-term business needs
  • Drive strategic supplier management through regular engagement, performance reviews, and development plans aligned to balanced scorecard KPIs
  • Execute sourcing levers such as e-auctions, dual sourcing, localization, value engineering, and long-term agreements to meet financial and operational objectives
  • Monitor commodity trends, market dynamics, and risk factors, adjusting sourcing strategies proactively
  • Lead sourcing process standardization and best practice sharing across regions and functions within the commodity
  • Lead vendor recovery strategy and execution to ensure supplier accountability and mitigate financial impact to GEV
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance, regulatory requirements, and business conduct policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of materials management, supply chain, manufacturing, sales & operating planning, and/or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of direct leadership experience

  • Advanced degree from an accredited university or college in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $216,000 and $297,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus
