This is an exciting opportunity to join the Monitoring and Diagnostics team, based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Our mission is to develop state of the art monitoring technologies, generally deployed in an Electrical Substation, allowing a customer to understand and optimize the operating condition of their Electrical Power Transformers, circuit breakers and other substation assets.
During this 1-year internship, you will work among a talented and motivated Project Engineering team, applying transformer monitoring technologies such as On-line Dissolved Gas Measurement, Bushing Measurement, Circuit-Breaker Monitoring amongst others. Working on Mechanical design modifications. From inception through to industrialization. Working on drawings and mockups of product critical components.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside incumbent Project Engineering team
- Reviewing Mechanical design documents
- Assist with updating design drawings and documentation
- Cross functional assistance when required
Essential
- Studying in pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subjects
- Strong English language communication skills, verbal and written.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
- Ability to interact with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to present mechanical analysis clearly with meaningful conclusions.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and techniques
Desired
- Experience with Solid works, AutoCAD and equivalent tools
- Knowledge of Mechanical component design and best practice.
- Analytical and organizational skills
- Second language
