Job Description Summary

Within Electrification Systems, the Grid Systems Integration (GSI) Business Line, is accountable for the Product Development, for the Business Development, for the Sales, for the Project Execution and for the Services of high voltage Alternative & Direct Current complete solutions, including Engineering, Procurement, and associated Construction (EPC).
Typical customers of GSI are worldwide Transmission, Distribution, Power Generation Utilities and Developers, as well as a wide range of Industrial customers. Typical project values range from a couple of hundreds of thousand dollars, up to the billion-dollar range. GSI Profit and Loss accountability is being structured around 6 geographical Regions, and Global Functions.

Job Description

Role Summary/Purpose

GSI market is experiencing a drastic growth and facing major challenges that need to be scrutinized, analyzed and shared so that leadership and teams craft relevant strategic actions to address.

Reporting directly to the GSI global Marketing Leader, the Americas Marketing Leader drives demand generation, lead creation (MQL's), market assessment, market intelligence, and strategic marketing to enable growth and innovation for GSI in his focus region.

Essential Responsibilities

Market Assessment & Market Intelligence

  • Lead comprehensive market assessments, including market size, market share, and gap analyses.
  • Anticipate and monitor market trends, volumes, and materialization versus forecasts.
  • Build competitive intelligence and capture Voice of Customers (VoC).
  • Tracks competitors performance, key wins, market share and any other relevant information to drive informed intelligence inside GSI.
  • Conduct analyst reviews and synthesize market intelligence for strategic planning.

Demand Generation

  • Owns and optimizes the end-to-end demand generation engine, including lead generation strategy, processes, and tools
  • Leverages market insights, customer data, and demand generation platforms to create and nurture qualified Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs)
  • Partners closely with Sales leadership to align on lead scoring, routing, and follow-up processes
  • Ensures timely assignment and effective conversion of MQLs to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) and opportunities in Salesforce (SFDC)
  • Continuously monitors funnel performance, identifies conversion bottlenecks, and drives data-informed campaigns and initiatives to improve pipeline quality, volume, and velocity

Product & Innovation Intelligence

  • Monitor market shifts to guide New Product Introduction (NPI) and Multi-Generation Product Planning (MGPP).
  • Develop intelligence on adjacent markets, breakthroughs, and strategic partnerships.
  • Coordinate closely with technology teams for smooth product evolution.
  • Anticipation of market breakthroughs (closely aligned with GSI Solution owners and solution breakthroughs).

Advocacy, Regulation, and Policy

  • Identify relevant trade associations and ensure meaningful participation.
  • Track regulatory changes, policy developments, and funding opportunities.
  • Assess and communicate GSI's influence and outcomes from advocacy activities.

Growth & Cross-Business Actions

  • Identify and drive strategic growth initiatives (e.g., regional plans, partnerships, sourcing strategies.).
  • Support and coordinate cross-business projects requiring diverse stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordination & GSI brand representation in conferences, events & fairs
  • Customer training coordination with the support of technical and non-technical resources from the GSI organization

Code of Ethic, EHS and processes

  • He/she is accountable to comply with the Grid Solutions Sales & Tendering process and associated Delegation of Authority, as well as with the GE Code of Ethics and EHS.

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • University degree in engineering, Strategic Marketing, Sales or business management
  • 7+ years working experience in Strategic Marketing, Sales and/or Consulting
  • Prior experience of 5+ years in the T&D industry
  • English - written and oral - fluency.
  • Thoroughness, self-motivation, accountability, analytical thinking, result-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint - ability to synthesize information and present to high level stakeholders.

Desired Characteristics

  • Masters degree in engineering, Strategic Marketing, Sales or business management
  • Self-starter, strong team player and ability to maintain can-do attitude in all situations
  • Successful experience of working with multi-cultural teams, displaying inclusive behavior with success in remote relationship.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Demonstrates curiosity and passion, continuously seeking new information sources to enhance knowledge and understanding of market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo, leveraging insights from external publications and market analyses
  • Excellent skills in presenting and reporting complex information
  • Understanding of energy sector, grid solutions and/or B2B environment is a plus.
  • Salesforce.com experience appreciated.
