Manufacturing Specialist - Material Procurement & Planning
Job Description Summary
As a Materials Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless production operations by planning material requirements and expediting the flow of goods from suppliers and across internal departments. Using SAP as your primary tool, you will manage supplier schedules and inventory flow to meet operational targets. This role requires a balance of purchasing knowledge and skills and applying independent judgment to adapt to changing production priorities. You will be responsible for both the quality of your own work and the collective efficiency of the team.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage procurement processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
- Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.

Required Qualifications
- Procurement professional accreditation or mid-level experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Materials Planning.
- This role requires basic experience in Manufacturing & Materials Planning and Execution, ideally within an electronic manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with relevant experience)
- Permanent right to work in the UK.
- No relocation assistance or visa sponsorship is available for this role.
