Job Description Summary

The Manager - Global Nuclear Fuels (GNF) Internal Projects is responsible for leading the execution of critical internal projects across the GNF business through direct leadership of a team of project managers. In this role, you will provide oversight, direction, and execution support for a portfolio of internal strategic, operational, business improvement, capital, and transformation initiatives designed to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and overall business performance.
The Internal Projects Team Manager will partner with stakeholders across engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, commercial, finance, regulatory, and other support functions to ensure projects are planned and executed with strong discipline, clear accountability, and alignment to business objectives. This role requires demonstrated leadership experience, strong project and program management capability, and the ability to drive results through a team in a matrixed and highly regulated environment.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of project managers responsible for executing internal projects and programs across the Global Nuclear Fuels business.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, coaching, and development for project managers to ensure strong execution, consistent project management practices, and achievement of business objectives.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of internal projects and programs aligned with business priorities and functional objectives.
  • Ensure project managers are driving execution in accordance with defined scope, schedule, cost, quality, and business outcome expectations.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, resource plans, and success measures across the internal project portfolio.
  • Drive strong execution rigor through structured operating rhythms, regular project reviews, issue resolution, milestone tracking, and portfolio-level performance monitoring.
  • Establish clear project governance, reporting, and escalation mechanisms to provide visibility to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project and portfolio risks, dependencies, constraints, and changes, ensuring timely escalation and resolution as needed.
  • Support prioritization of internal projects based on strategic importance, business value, and available resource capacity.
  • Coordinate across functions including operations, engineering, supply chain, quality, EHS, finance, IT, HR, and commercial teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.
  • Monitor project and team performance and provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting to stakeholders and business leadership.
  • Facilitate decision-making by providing data-driven insights, recommendations, and options to project sponsors and functional leaders.
  • Lead financial planning and oversight for assigned programs and internal projects, including budget development, forecasting, resource planning, and tracking of spend against commitments.
  • Partner closely with finance and business leaders to manage CAPEX and R&D project budgets, ensuring alignment with business priorities, funding approvals, financial targets, and execution plans.
  • Provide visibility into project financial performance, including cost tracking, forecast accuracy, budget risks, and variance analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the internal projects organization through lessons learned, standard work, best practice sharing, and project management capability building.
  • Ensure projects are executed in compliance with applicable business processes, quality requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and operational excellence across the project management team.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, program management, operations, engineering, manufacturing, or related business functions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and resource planning.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading teams, including direct people leadership, coaching, and performance management responsibilities.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project/program management certification.

Eligibility Requirements

  • This role may require travel based on business needs. Preferred location is Wilmington, NC. If selected candidate does not live in the Wilmington, NC area, monthly travel to Wilmington, NC will be required.

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field.
  • Experience in nuclear, energy, manufacturing, chemical processing, aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience leading a team of project or program managers in a complex business environment.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, dashboards, portfolio reporting systems, and execution metrics.
  • Experience supporting strategic initiatives, business transformation, process improvement, operational excellence programs, or capital project execution.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and programs in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information into actionable plans.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with capital planning, R&D investment management, forecasting, and business case support.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated and compliance-driven business environment.
  • Experience working with CAPEX and R&D budgets and partnering with finance teams to manage investment planning and execution.
  • Strong project planning, organizational, problem-solving, and execution skills, including experience with lean methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build cross-functional alignment, and drive accountability.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $132,200.00 and $220,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
