Job Description Summary

Manage transportation and related logistics of goods and services to and from internal and/or external customers/suppliers. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.

Job Description

ITO/Project bidding:

• Logistics feasibility study / Route Survey during Project bidding. Define transport limit basis of survey.
• Logistics cost estimation during bidding (ITO). Prepare transport RFQ, follow ups for offer, comparison.

OTR Sourcing:

• Prepare & initiate transport RFQ to approved bidder, follow ups for offers and offer clarification
• Prepare comparison, Freight negotiation & Contract finalization with freight forwarders, Heavy Lift Operators & Transporters for Project Logistics (Domestic + Overseas Freight)
• Prepare the Purchase Order in ERP/SAP. Prepare Frame agreement.

OTR Execution:

• Prepare the Transport plan for Logistics Management for new Project.
• Coordinate with Procurement colleagues, Project supply chain manager, Supplier, Freight forwarder & transporter for pick up the shipment as per pick up request.
• Coordinate with Shipping line/Forwarder & Customs broker for timely arrival of shipment and initiate the customs clearance in time
• Coordinate with Customs CoE, Customs broker and Logistics service provider for timely customs clearance and dispatch the material to project site in most economic mode of transport.
• Ensure full utilization of Container and vehicle to save the transport cost. Ensure safe transportation till site.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, rules and regulations related to customs, transport and EHS
• Responsible for effective logistics coordination for assigned projects in region.
• Ensure delivery are cost effective and compliant to scope, on time and on budget.
• Follow the Packing, Lifting & Lashing (PALILA) for safe handling.
• Evaluation of transporter/Freight forwarder & performance monitoring

Knowledge / Skill set required

• Knowledge of Road transport, shipping & Air freight.
• The individual must be the region's Subject Matter Expert for project logistics. At the same time, the individual will need to optimize logistics efficiencies globally whilst emphasizing operational compliance.
• Strong knowledge in Packing, Lifting & Lashing for Project materials.
• The role requires the incumbent to interact with both internal and external partners at all levels.
• Strong hands-on experience in Inco term management & implementation and contract management
• Experience in developing strategic logistics / trade solutions and working with international custom brokers
• Extensive knowledge in industry best practices Logistics / Transportation /Trade Zones
• Highly competent communicator who can successfully interact with cross functional teams, Management, and business partners

Other important points:

Education: Graduation / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Experience: 3-6 years in Project Logistics. Experience in Hydro Power projects & EPC Projects will be preferred.

Base location: Vadodara, Gujarat

Travel need: Need to travel to Port, Project sites and Route survey on need basis

Language: Fluent in English (written and verbal) and proficient in local language (Hindi & Gujarati)

Reporting: Logistics Manager in India.
