Lean Process Engineer
Job Description Summary
The Lean Specialist will play a critical role in enabling the successful execution of METEM a GE Vernova business Lean Transformation roadmap. This individual will partner closely with the METEM Lean Leader to drive structured planning, pre-work, and coordination required for high-impact kaizen events, sprints, and line-creation initiatives.
The successful candidate will define, develop, and implement Lean improvement activities that align with strategic business objectives, with a strong emphasis on preparing teams, gathering data, mapping processes, and ensuring all prerequisites are in place before each event. Using Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Standard Work, 5S, Kanban, Visual Management, Just-In-Time (JIT), and FMEA, the Lean Specialist will help eliminate waste, improve flow, and enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost outcomes.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Lean Implementation:
- Lead and facilitate Lean projects across different functions under guidance of the METEM Lean Leader.
- Drive the structured planning, preparation, and coordination required for kaizen events, sprints, and line-creation initiatives.
- Support implementation of Lean methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, VSM) to optimize processes and sustain improvements.
Coaching and Training:
- Coach and mentor employees on Lean principles and daily management practices.
- Deliver training sessions and workshops to strengthen Lean capability across the organization.
- Reinforce Lean behaviors, accountability, and consistency in event preparation and execution.
Process Improvement:
- Identify process improvement opportunities across operations and partner with teams to execute meaningful changes.
- Lead collection of baseline data, time studies, problem statements, process maps, and other pre-work required for Lean events.
- Track and validate impact of Lean initiatives to ensure sustainable and measurable results.
Cultural Change:
- Promote a culture of structured problem-solving, waste elimination, and Lean thinking.
- Engage employees at all levels in improvement activities and encourage participation in kaizen events.
Data Analysis:
- Use data, metrics, and analytical tools to define gaps and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Create and present reports on Lean project status, event readiness, and outcomes for leadership reviews.
Collaboration:
- Partner closely with the Global Lean Leader to execute the Lean roadmap and ensure alignment across the organization.
- Work with department heads, project managers, and cross-functional teams to coordinate scheduling, event logistics, and resource planning.
- Ensure strong communication flow before, during, and after kaizen events to support sustained implementation.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field with minimum of 2 years of experience in Lean manufacturing, Lean office, or process improvement or HS diploma or GE with minimum of 5 years experience in a lean role.
- Hands-on experience using Lean tools and methodologies.
Eligibility Requirements
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
- This role will require you to be 100% on site.
- Ability to travel to Parsippany, NJ for Kaizen events approximately 1 time a month as needed and potential international travel 1 time as year to Hungary location.
- Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Our facility operates 24 hours per day on three shifts. You will occasionally be required to provide assistance to shifts outside of normal working hours.

- Knowledge of GE Vernova product lines is preferred.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $81,700.00 and $136,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
