Lead Technical Support Engineer
Job Description Summary
• Part of the APAC Service Team providing technical expertise from India but supporting the whole region as required
• To support Power Conversion and storage customers with technical aspects of upgrades, in-depth trouble-shooting, creation of technical reports and expert advice.
• To support Service projects as required.
• This role may involve site work supporting customers
Job Description
MAIN TASKS AND ACTIVITIES
• Analysis of technical data from reported customer problems and creation of technical reports to discuss the findings, conclusions and recommendations.
• Application or development of engineering standards.
• Telephone and email support when required, including analysis of alarms and trip history data, and proposals for solutions to problems.
• Use of Smart Serve to document all customer cases and follow up to completion
• Preparation of Pre Site packs for FSE's detailing technical requirements and providing appropriate instructions for works.
• Create customer warning notices and advice notices in response to discovery of a hardware or software problem.
• Specify, design, and document drive trains including electrical design, selection and specification of components, application software.
• Specification, design or use of computer simulation and calculation tools.
• Perform internal and external training
• Liaison with other GE Power Conversion and Storage units, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Produce technical/design specifications, and documents to help customers with problems.

• Put together technical proposals for upgrades of legacy systems.
• Liaise with COE engineering support as and when required
• Some overseas travel may be required.
Qualifications:
- Graduate with 12+ years of Experience of drive train and/or power system design.
- Experience of BESS and Solar Systems
- Knowledge of control systems
- Simulation programming.
- Previous knowledge and experience of GE Vernova drive products and systems.
- Practical experience in the retrofitting of control systems
