Job Description Summary
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- The Systems Design Lead Engineer is responsible for leading the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of complex power conversion and grid stability systems. The role requires deep technical expertise across power electronics, rotating machines, controls, and system integration, combined with strong leadership and customer-facing capabilities.
This role is pivotal in driving GE Vernova's strategic growth across core competency areas including Variable Frequency Drive Systems, Synchronous Condensers, STATCOM/MMC, Frequency Converters, Load Balancers, BESS and MVDC systems. - Lead end-to-end system design of complex power conversion systems
- Serve as technical decision maker for system architecture
- Lead and conduct internal & customer design reviews
- Ensure designs meet IEC, IEEE and relevant Standards and with customer specifications
- Drive continuous improvement and technology development
- Develop and validate system models
- Mentor and develop junior & graduate engineers
- Contribute to team capability building initiatives
- Support and participate in training programs
- Present technical solutions to customers

Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Power Electronics from reputed College/University
- Knowledge of grid codes and utility requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years experience in System Design using MATLAB/PLECS/PSCAD/PSSE/DIGSILENT FACTORY/ETAP
- Ability to adapt and multi-task with project/application engineers.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Power quality simulation / power system design experience with MATLAB

- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Flexibility to work on Matrix Environment working with Global Stakeholders and Customers.
