Lead Sourcing Specialist

Job Description Summary
The Lead Sourcing Specialist is responsible for defining and executing sourcing strategies at the business or plant level. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to achieve optimal cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance while ensuring compliance with company policies and internal customer satisfaction. The position operates with a moderate degree of autonomy and applies analytical thinking to solve complex, day-to-day sourcing challenges

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cost-out initiatives, including alternate source identification and qualification
• Manage supplier and part qualification processes in collaboration with engineering, quality, and operations teams
• Analyze supplier markets, competitive dynamics, and differentiators to support informed sourcing decisions
• Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced colleagues; provide guidance and share best practices
• Drive alignment and consensus across cross-functional stakeholders
• Communicate performance expectations and address sensitive supplier or internal issues as needed
• Apply judgment to propose solutions beyond established parameters for complex sourcing challenges
• Use technical experience, analytical thinking, and data prioritization to support decision-making
• Leverage multiple internal and limited external data sources to arrive at sound sourcing decisions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Sourcing, Materials or Global Supply Chain Experience
• Strong financial/ quantitative, analytical skills, data driven
• Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), Tableau.

Desired Characteristics

• Experience in supplier development
• Experience with SAP ERP system
• Commodity/ FX Risk Management Experience
• Highly motivated/ results/ metrics driven with a desire to learn and grow in sourcing /supply chain
• Demonstrated negotiation and contract management skills, as well as ability to leverage data to prioritize
• Capable of challenging the status quo, driving process improvements, direct material productivity and cost out.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
