Job Description Summary
The Discipline Engineering Group Head, supervises, coordinates design teams in his/her field of activities. Assists lead engineers at project launching phase, control engineering process follow up, ensures the proper management of interfaces with our partners and main suppliers. He (or She) is accountable for the proper allocation of resources required to execute the projects, looks for design subcontractors to adapt resources to the workload plan and optimize design budget ($). Handles specific actions, organize know how capitalization and Return On Experience to improve global engineering efficiency for relevant activities.

Head of group is accountable for the proper compliance to the 'state of the art' and applicable standard and regulation in his field of activity, he or she is considered as technical referent for the teams. As manager, the Head of group is in charge of conducting performance assessment of his/her teams.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and integrate : be part of the team in charge designing the Control system, protection system, Electrical distribution, telecom & monitoring of a High voltage substation. It can be for example through single line diagram, schematic diagram, protection system, electrical consumption and design of auxiliary services, interlocking, communication & network: it's a wild domain with a lot of possibilities.
  • Initiate & support the procurement of equipment.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure the integration into the overall substation design.
  • Oversee the commissioning and testing of Low voltage systems.
  • Provide technical support to customers and project teams.
  • Manage team's workload
  • Decide to manage design in house or subcontracted, subcontractor selection and evaluation


What you bring:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in the design of substations control, cabinet in a EPC project environment. Experience with CAD software and substation design tools is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of substation control system design, or electrical distribution, ancillary services, industry standards, and regulations. Familiarity with Substation Layout is advantageous.
