Lead Proposal Engineer

Job Description Summary

Proposal Engineer is responsible for leading end-to-end proposal management for T&D / EBOP / Electrical Substation turnkey projects, including technical and commercial solution development, risk assessment and mitigation, costing, pricing strategy, and coordination across product lines, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. This role also supports bid manager in customer negotiations during the tender stage, and helps shape commercially competitive proposals aligned with business goals and customer requirements.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the proposal management, including proposal development, risk management and mitigation, specification compliance, scope development, costing and calculation of selling price through the creation of the EAS (estimate analysis sheet), coordination between all Product Lines involved and external suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide leadership during the deal review process to ensure that all technical risk, pricing strategies and complete solution are properly incorporated in the development of the scope, cost and proposal wording.
  • Responsible for supporting the Bid Manager in the pre-sales process.
  • Collaboration with the Region Sales and Account Managers team to develop commercial strategies and solutions that meet customer requirements as well as meet or exceed business goals.
  • Define target costs and negotiate with internal PLs and External suppliers.
  • Drive the review of the risk elements presented in the technical offers and provide mitigation with the support of other areas on deal strategy, schedule risks, equipment availability, Advance Order / Release, costing, performance and other identified risks.
  • Support discussions on strategic opportunities and ensure strategic business alignment.
  • Align strategic support to Product Line and negotiation with partners for civil works and erection scope.
  • Assemble and recognize Market needs in terms of technical solution.
  • Lead the technical discussion with customers in tender negotiation stage.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor Engineering degree (Electrical highly preferred) or related.
  • At least 5 years of experience in tendering for T&D / EBOP / Electrical Substation Turnkey projects.
  • Strong technical and commercial background in T&D / EBoP Power Generation and industrial market is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a matrix and cross functional environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all business levels and with support areas.
  • Deeply knowledge of T&G products, processes, and organizational structure is preferred.
  • Strong external focus, with ability to assess impact of price and performance decisions on customers, market, and investors.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong reluctance to work under pressure and time constraint.
  • English and Spanish are mandatories.
