Lead Project Manager
Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (m/f/d) - ACS / FACTS / High Voltage Substations to lead the execution of complex EPC turnkey projects and electrical packages for grid projects in the Netherlands. Based in Rijswijk, this role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The position requires strong experience in high-voltage substations or related electrical infrastructure, fluency in English, and willingness to travel and work from site as needed. Dutch is an advantage.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of EPC turnkey projects or electrical packages for high-voltage substations and switchgear projects
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure project execution is aligned with company processes, contractual requirements, and customer expectations
- Coordinate multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
- Build strong relationships with customers and maintain a customer-focused approach throughout project execution
- Apply electrical engineering knowledge to support project planning, decision-making, and execution
- Identify and proactively manage project risks, opportunities, issues, and interfaces
- Maintain effective communication with customers, site teams, management, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and quality requirements
- Promote a strong safety culture and integrate Environment, Health, and Safety requirements into project execution
- Support continuous improvement and efficient project delivery practices
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in project management within electrical infrastructure, power systems, substations, or industrial/plant engineering environments
- Experience in turnkey projects, preferably in high-voltage substations, switchgear, ACS, FACTS, or related grid infrastructure
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering with specialization in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple interfaces effectively
- Experience managing technical, commercial, and financial risks in complex projects
- Fluent in English
- Dutch is an advantage
- Willingness to travel and work from site as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in transmission and distribution projects, Power Projects in the Netherlands or wider European market and internal experience is an advantage.
- Project management certification such as PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2, or equivalent
- Familiarity with project planning, reporting, and execution tools
- Experience with construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases of substation projects
Work Location and Mobility
- Base location: Rijswijk, Netherlands
- Supports Dutch projects
- Requires travel and site presence depending on project needs
- May involve short- or medium-term assignments at project locations
- Ready to travel Internationally based on the business or Project needs.
