Job Description Summary
Based at GE Power Conversion Manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur, Testing Manager demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Testing Manager will be responsible for overall manufacturing test department, for testing of subassemblies and equipment of LV/MV drives, statis frequency controllers, etc. for different applications. The incumbent will be responsible for different project of phases like understanding the customer requirement, understanding of project specific documents, preparation of configuration of test bench based on approved documents, testing of the same and inspection with customer in factory, support to Project Management/ Engineering/ Commissioning team for smooth execution of the Project.

- Serve as the primary testing representative at factory.
- Lead a team of test engineers to define, plan, execute and post-process test requests
- Plan for maintenance of Test benches with spare parts ordering, issues resolution, and provisioning
- Prepare and present periodic test and engineering progress updates to senior management
- Own the testing infrastructure and plan for the resources, budget, quality and maintenance.
- Promote and adhere to culture of Safety, Quality & Compliance within the manufacturing site.
- Establish test plans and make final decision to achieve objectives
- Create and manage overall scheduling for assigned tests
- Maintain an ISO certified Quality System
- Provide hands-on support of the technical teams preparing and executing test programs.
- All activities related to the testing and validation of an equipment, facility, or plant in accordance with the design objectives or specifications for operational use. Includes Factory Acceptance routine test and type tests.
- Participate in project reviews with PM to identify testing challenges early and help implement improvement plans
- Optimize and improve test methodologies to enhance operational efficiency
- Work with cross-functional teams to define specialized test requests
- Proactively identify test related readiness and work towards expedient resolution to issues encountered
- Lead technical personnel in all aspects of engineering validation
- Analyze and implement the continuous improvements in testing process and procedures.
- Testing of Medium and low voltage variable speed drives with Medium/Low voltage switchgears
- Familiar with the measuring and testing instruments like digital meters, oscilloscope and recorder, power analyser and frequency generator.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Masters/ Bachelors/Diploma Degree from accredited college / university in Electrical Or Electronics Engineering or allied Engineering.
- 10 - 15 years of relevant experience
- Experience in test management including test resource and infrastructure management.
- Experience in Power Electronics, VFD and High voltage Equipment
