Lead Product Engineer
Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Product Engineer to support the gas turbine blade repair workshop. This role serves as a senior technical contributor and integrator within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, accountable for ensuring repairs are executed in compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.
Beyond technical ownership, the Lead Product Engineer is expected to navigate complex, cross-functional interfaces, align stakeholders, and drive progress across multiple priorities. The role requires strong facilitation, coordination, and influencing skills to translate engineering intent into executable actions on the shop floor, often within evolving constraints.
Working closely with the Cell Leader and cross-functional teams, this position supports improvements in safety, cycle time, quality, cost, productivity, and delivery performance, while leading cell-level New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Cost-Out (PCO) initiatives.
Job Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Define and approve gas turbine blade repair work scope based on incoming part condition and engineering requirements
- Develop, maintain, and review repair work instructions aligned with customer, engineering, and regulatory standards
- Provide technical guidance and peer review across product and process engineering activities within the cell
- Lead complex technical problem solving, balancing engineering rigor with operational realities
- Drive new process implementation, including qualification, validation, and industrialization
- Own product and process qualification activities to ensure production readiness
- Review and endorse incoming inspection, condition assessment, and final repair reports
- Act as a key coordination point between Operations, Engineering, Quality, and support teams to resolve issues and unblock execution
- Support the Cell Leader in driving improvements in EHS, cycle time, quality, cost, productivity, and on-time delivery
- Ensure quality compliance, lead root cause analysis (RCA), and facilitate cross-functional corrective and preventive actions
- Lead cell-level NPI and PCO initiatives, aligning stakeholders and driving closure on technical, quality, and cost actions
- Execute process improvement programs, ensuring initiatives translate into sustainable shop-floor outcomes
- Champion Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to improve EHS, quality, cycle time, productivity, and process robustness
- Drive continuous improvement projects that deliver measurable impact to customers and the business
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in engineering or manufacturing environments
- Ability to analyze technical issues and apply structured problem-solving approaches
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with turbine component repairs is beneficial

- Strong facilitation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills across multiple functions
- Resourceful, proactive, and capable of driving progress with incomplete information or constraints
- Shingijutsu experience or advanced Lean / continuous improvement training
- Strong technical report writing capability
- Excellent analytical skills, including experience in Root Cause Analysis
- Calm, structured, and disciplined in execution, even under pressure.
