Lead Primary Engineer
Job Description Summary
The Lead Engineer - Plant Engineering is the technical guarantor of the proper performance of design works conducted in his/her field of activity, in matter of committed design budget (man days), deadline and Quality, in line with Customer expectation, while promoting ease of installation, operation and maintenance of the system.
As a High Voltage Substation Designer for Layout with maximize efficiency and accessibility for maintenance and operation, Component Selection for HV substation components, not only including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and associated equipment, but also conductors, clamp, insulators and other necessary material for the overall integration, based on project requirements and specifications.
Collaboration and Integration with other engineering disciplines, such as Protection, Control & Automation Engineers, Civil/Structural Engineers, and Electrical Systems Engineers, to achieve seamless integration of substation components

What Will You Do
- Discipline provisional document list prepared and aligned with project time Schedule with achievable task duration
- Full set KPI's followed on monthly base
- Discipline Design reviews & Gate reviews plan formalized and followed
- ROR integrates design part and Mitigation plan formalized and actions status identified (not started, ongoing, closed.)
- Design management tools strictly followed, and submission of coherent data
- Discipline workload plan updated on regular base
- Discipline Design hours mastered
- Design change process in place
- Discipline Interface sheets deployed and validated for the project
- No significant gap in scope and exchange of information between partners or main suppliers from our partners & Suppliers
- No serious claim from main Suppliers
- Engineering platform in place when relevant, coordination meetings organized
- NCR system used for the discipline
- Discipline document to be attached to the OM&M delivered on time
- Compliance to Quality processes and procedures and GE policies and procedures
What Do You Bring
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college from Mechanical/Electrical or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in the related activity/discipline in project & EPC type environment in T&D, STATCOM, Power Gen or Oil & Gas industry.
- Up to 20% travel within MEA & Europe along with other country/regions for short or medium period based on requirement.
- Strong oral and written communication in English.

- Several experiences in managing externally subcontracted design work package of various sizes
- Design management tools strictly followed, and submission of coherent data
- Discipline workload plan updated on regular base
- Experience in technical problem solving
- Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution industry
- No significant gap in scope and exchange of information between partners or main suppliers from our partners & Suppliers
- Engineering platform in place when relevant, coordination meetings organized
- NCR system used for the discipline
- Discipline document to be attached to the OM&M delivered on time
- Compliance to Quality processes and procedures and GE policies and procedure
- French language skills would be an added advantage.
