Job Description Summary

Operations Leader reports to the Turbine Cell Leader and is responsible for SQDC-P execution on the floor with operational accountability within this area.
Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily "shop floor" leadership with respect to EHS, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity to assigned teams
  • Champion an open reporting culture with assigned workforce
  • Provides leadership in scheduling resources, technical leadership and facilitating the flow of hardware to meet customer requirements
  • Perform administrative duties including time & attendance, self-audits, disciplinary procedures etc.
  • Collaborates with other functional teams to ensure requirements are met (including EHS, quality, cost, scope & cycle)
  • Coach and develop employees to support individual performance Development
  • Support initiatives to achieve goals in asset utilization and process improvement

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support customer meetings when required
  • Assist Cell Leader/SCM with making smart resource-allocation decisions
  • Solve problems, set direction, eliminate waste, own visual management
  • Motivate team through a reward & recognition program designed to drive engagement & accountability
  • Analyze and diagnose P&E issues and support CAPA measures in collaboration with others

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or High School diploma/GED with >5 years' experience working in a repair/service or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Inclusive leadership & communication skills
  • Must have prior experience working with heavy industrial equipment in a repair/manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of Lean and/or alternative continuous improvement methods
  • Ability and willingness to work 1st and 2nd shift & weekends as required per the business

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with SAP / ERP system
  • Experience dealing with customers and commercial activity 1-2 years
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and planning
  • Knowledge and prior experience in Power Gen (steam and gen) 3-5 years
  • Lean Training
  • Project management experience/qualifications

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $81,700.00 and $136,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
