Job Description Summary
Reporting to the GridBeats Hardware Leader, the Lead Mechanical Engineer is mainly responsible for design of mechanical parts, specification detailing, tolerance analysis, documentation maintenance within PLM system.
The candidate will be part of a cross-functional team including hardware design, systems engineering, and software development to deliver best in class products for the global market.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Mechanical engineering design of electronics packaging
- Design of mechanical parts involving different materials and processes
- Creation of detailed specifications and manufacturing drawings
- Involvement from concept to production of mechanical parts
- Perform tolerance analysis and simulations of designs
- Transition legacy information into new PLM systems and provide guidance on its use
- Maintain all mechanical engineering design documentation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, project manager, to achieve project goals
- Work with suppliers to achieve design manufacturability
- Support production and customer support with root cause analysis
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an engineering discipline
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles and analysis techniques
- Proficiency with PTC Creo
- Proven experience with use of PTC Windchill

Desired Characteristics
- Experience designing electronic equipment requiring thermal management
- Knowledge of Options and Variants for configuration of overloaded structures in Windchill
- Understanding of PCB components and their function
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing complex engineering challenges
- Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Good verbal and written communication stills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between 92,000$ CAD and 138,000$ CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: Discretionary annual bonus
