The Lead Reliability Engineer will originate and develop analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment, and processes. Acquires and analyzes data. Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements. Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the required reliability approach for the situation, with consideration given to the cost limitations for equipment uptime/downtime, repair/replacement costs and weight, size and availability of materials/equipment. Determines cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliability processes/equipment to avoid failures.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Lead Reliability Engineer, you will provide day-to-day leadership and guidance for reliability manufacturing maintenance program at the GNF-A facility in Wilmington, NC. You will interact extensively with the area engineers, maintenance technicians, and manufacturing managers and supervisors. Essential responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for managing safe working behavior of the reliability team, demonstrating a high regard for personal and team EHS performance, sustaining a zero overdue status of investigations and actions
  • Meet the site target of zero overdue compliance actions in terms of Quality actions and documentation updates
  • Produce and implement the site reliability policies for all equipment and systems, ensuring all planned routines are correctly specified and critical spares are available to allow the maintenance team to effectively complete tasks.
  • Site lead for all engineering Root cause analysis and implementation of long-term engineering solutions to prevent reoccurrences, manage KPI's including Run Hours, Mean Time Between Failure (MBTF) and Cost to repair of equipment and systems.
  • Work with the responsible engineers to Implement technical standards assuring all assets remain fully compliant
  • Supply reliability status monthly reporting figures, analyses trends and develop improvement projects to address the issues of concern, make continuous improvement a way of life. This role will also own the site Probability of Failure on Demand (PoFOD) Report and issue twice annually.
  • Manage all team personnel issues and concerns and through performance management identify talent to develop as well as holding the team to account.
  • Contribute to site capital investment process, highlight all engineering projects which have a benefit to the site
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the site predictive/preventative engineering policies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a 4-year technical degree (Mechanical, Industrial, etc.) with a minimum 5 years of work experience in reliability engineering within an industrial manufacturing setting OR High School Diploma and 10 years of work experience in reliability engineering within an industrial manufacturing setting

Eligibility Requirements:

  • For Controlled Access Area: must be able to successfully pass a Nuclear Safety Training Test; follow strict radiation protection, criticality, and industrial safety regulations; wear protective clothing to enter the area.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Must be 18 years or older and have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of reliability engineering and predictive maintenance
  • Experience in applied Mathematics or Statistics.
  • Knowledge of relevant NRC or DOE regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including use of Excel for statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $91,700.00 and $152,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
