Job Description Summary

The Innovation lead is responsible for driving the organization's innovation agenda by exploring new technologies, generating and developing innovative ideas, and fostering a culture of creativity across the business. This role identifies emerging market opportunities, leads cross-functional collaboration, and manages a portfolio of innovation initiatives from ideation through execution.
The Innovation Lead serves as a catalyst for company-wide transformation by bridging departments, enabling the adoption of new technologies, and ensuring innovation efforts deliver measurable business value and return on investment.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Innovation Strategy and Vision

  • Develop and execute the organization's innovation strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Identify emerging technologies, industry trends, and disruptive opportunities that can create competitive advantage.
  • Promote a forward-thinking mindset and embed innovation into the company culture.

2. Idea Generation and Creative Culture

  • Lead initiatives that encourage creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions, innovation workshops, and idea incubation programs.
  • Create processes to capture, evaluate, and prioritize innovative ideas from across the organization.

3. Market Opportunity Identification

  • Research market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
  • Assess the commercial potential of new concepts, products, services, or business models.
  • Translate market and technology insights into actionable innovation opportunities.

4. Portfolio and Project Management

  • Manage a portfolio of innovation projects from concept development to pilot, implementation, and scale-up.
  • Establish evaluation criteria, business cases, and governance structures for innovation initiatives.
  • Ensure projects are aligned with strategic objectives, timelines, budgets, and expected outcomes.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a bridge between departments such as R&D, operations, technology, marketing, and strategy.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to accelerate innovation efforts.
  • Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing to break down silos and drive integrated solutions.

6. Performance Measurement and ROI

  • Define KPIs and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of innovation programs.
  • Measure return on investment (ROI), business impact, and value realization from innovation initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college with a minimum exp of 8 yrs.
  • Proven experience in innovation, strategy, business transformation, product development, or technology leadership.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies, innovation processes, and market analysis.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and leading change initiatives.
