Job Description Summary

The Lead Secondary Engineer is the technical guarantor of the proper performance of design works conducted in his/her field of activity, in matter of committed design budget (man days), deadline and Quality, in line with Customer expectation, while promoting ease of installation, operation and maintenance of the system.

Job Description

What will you do:

  • Design, be part of the design of the design of a high voltage & HVDC substations, ensuring their reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards, protection standard, and regulations.
  • Collaboration with other engineers and support for project documentation and continuous improvement initiatives are also key aspects of this role.
  • Manages & oversees detailed execution progress, coordinates delivery of required engineering documentation for procurement, manufacturing and site erection associated to concerned activity, based on Customer specifications and requirement, and internal standards.

A Lead Secondary engineer has the capacity to manage design packages integrated in "Full set" projects according to PMH

  • With an important customer in terms of secured and potential contracts or target market.
  • That constitutes a major financial, technical and or commercial risk & opportunities
  • The impact of the project will have a significant effect on the Business unit
  • Operating within an (inter)national environment with many complex internal and suppliers' interfaces

What will you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical Engineers) from an accredited university or Technology Academic studies.
  • Minimum 3 years engineering experience in the related activity/discipline, preferably in project & EPC type environment in HV substations, Power Gen or Oil &Gas industry
  • Familiar with project technical management processes, preferably in a multi-disciplinary team's context with multiple interfaces
  • Fluent in English.
  • Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium period and to travel worldwide.

  • Knowledge of Project organization and engineering processes related to his/her scope of activity
  • Compliance to Quality processes and procedures and GE policies and procedures
  • Experience in technical problem solving
  • Discipline Design reviews & Gate reviews plan formalized and followed
  • ROR integrates design part and Mitigation plan formalized and actions status identified (not started, ongoing, closed.)
