Job Description Summary
You will be in charge of engineering activities for the GE Vernova gas turbine starting systems and load gear (including coupling guard). These systems are critical to start the gas turbine and to adjust to gas turbine frequency to the grid frequency for small gas turbines. You will join a global engineering team that is part of the Mechanical CoE.

Job Description
This is a cross-functional role to :
- Execute technical design. & Deliver drawings, specifications and BOMs for the projects.
- Collaborate with the component suppliers.
- Provide technical assistance to the sites.
Lead engineer is in close contact with Technical Leader, Principal engineer and Senior Principal Engineer. He interacts with PFL (Product Fulfilment Leader), Power train dynamics, GT-PE (Gas Turbine Project Engineer), customers, suppliers, site.
Roles and Responsibilities
Owner will be responsible of:
- Coordinating and managing the execution of design tasks (Drawing/Specification/Bill Of Materials) , to deliver on time with expected quality level
- Ensuring the design is per applicable rules, regulations codes and standards, design practice/work instruction, contractual requirement.
- Ensuring equipment maintainability and accessibility for 3D model review.
- Participating in HAZOP-studies, Hazard Assessment reviews and design reviews. They will ensure that corrective actions are closed on time..
- Supporting on-time Root Cause Analysis closure.
- Carrying out activities related to the purchase of equipment designed by a third party / supplier.
- Documenting reviews, supporting / preparing design concepts
- Supporting erection and commissioning activities at site, solving field issues.
- Supporting to keep up-to-date standard part list (GBOM) and standard designs.
- Proposing design improvement and cost reduction.
- Providing input in weekly scrum and project review meetings.
- Supporting qualification of new suppliers or new products.
- Communicate feedback to all levels of the organization.
- Use technical knowledge for analysis to support/provide recommendations.
- Develop knowledge in the discipline.

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
- A few years of engineering experience.
- Knowledge of gear boxes, electrical motors, hydraulic systems would be an advantage.
- Focus, Design know-how or experience on Load Gear, turning gear, Starting Means and coupling guard would be an advantage.
Desired Characteristics:
- Solid mechanical background.
- Mechatronics knowledge (sensors, motors, control...).
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Skill to interact with all levels of the organization, customers and suppliers.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Readiness to travel for workshop/site inspections few times per year (up to 10% of its time).
- Positive thinking with proactive approach.
- Proficient communication in English language.
- Following would be nice to have:
- Knowledge on relevant codes and standards (e.g ANSI, ASME, ASHRE, EN, OSHA etc.)
- Knowledge of GE Vernova tools and methods (e.g. GTCC-PLM, AVEVA, ClearOrbit (SDR, RFI, NCR)).

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $88,600.00 - $147,600.00 USD Annually.
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a Variable Incentive (VIC) bonus of 10%.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
