The Lead Civil Structural Engineer contributes to the team responsible for the development of Civil Engineering activities in support of the New Nuclear Plants Engineering projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
• In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Nuclear engineering from an Accredited College or University
• Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience
• 4 years of Civil Engineering Analysis and Design Experience

Eligibility Requirements

• For the United States the preferred work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Nuclear Energy Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
• Willing to travel up to 25% domestic and international
• This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
• Master's Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, BWR core/fuel material behavior, and mechanical or structural design fundamentals
• Strong communication and writing skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments
• Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity

The base pay range for this position is $86,000 to $122,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on November 11th.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
