Job Description Summary

The Lead Civil Structural Engineer is responsible for performing the structural analysis of different Structural Systems and Components (SCC) in Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). They are also responsible of understanding the interactions between different structural, mechanical, electrical, and piping components of a system. They apply theory, principles, data, and methods within the engineering design to perform the design of the structural systems and components.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of senior and principal engineers, the candidate will perform the following tasks:

  • Perform structural analysis of structural systems and components of a nuclear power plant
  • The ability to utilize Finite Element Analysis and ANSYS APDL tools to develop the structural demands on different structural components
  • Perform seismic analysis and evaluation of different structural systems and components in NPPs
  • Support developing and revising design specifications.
  • Document, plan, promote, and execute projects and programs to support organizational objectives
  • Deliver high quality engineering documentation in alignment with contract requirements, internal procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Produce clear, detailed technical writing, including requirements, and descriptive documentation.
  • Prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Adapt effectively to changing conditions, competing demands, and unexpected challenges.
  • Maintain reliability through consistent attendance and constructive responses to feedback.
  • Build trust, support colleagues, and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Model and promote safe work practices, supporting a strong safety culture.
  • Apply quality standards and best practices to ensure high quality work and continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4 or more years of civil engineering analysis and design experience

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $96,900 and $145,400 CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
