Junior Project Manager
Job Description Summary
GE's Power Conversion business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world's major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.
The Junior Project Manager will be responsible for delivering low to medium value, electrical engineering projects, ensuring that contractual obligations are met on time and to budget, whilst achieving customer satisfaction and good morale within the project team. This role is ideal for a first time or early career project manager with scope to expand and take on more complex and higher value projects in the future.
You will have the opportunity to interact with various internal teams as well as suppliers and customers operating globally and work on projects from small service orders to multi-million-dollar projects.
Job Description
In this role you will focus on:
- Managing multiple low to medium value new build and Conversion, Modification and Upgrade (CMU) Projects.
- Supporting all commercial aspects of the project (On time delivery, risks / opportunities, cost, billing, trading and cash collection).
- Ensuring that all Commercial Procedures are observed .
- Registering, compiling, submitting and negotiating order variations such as extensions of time, additional scope of supply and other claims as appropriate.
- Carrying out regular project reviews to check progress, manage cost, identify deviations from plan, detect risk and forecast future performance.
- Communicating with globally based multi-disciplined commercial and technical support teams.
- Dealing with suppliers and professional bodies.
- Identifying and mitigate and escalate risks and opportunities as appropriate.
- Travelling as appropriate for customer meetings/FAT etc.

We are looking for a committed and professional individual with
- Commercial or Technical Degree (Desired).
- Relevant level of experience of project Management or project management support role for product or systems projects.
- Experience of day to day dealing with customer and commercial issues.
