IT Sourcing Initiatives Leader (Program Manager)
Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for leading Strategic Sourcing Initiative activities across all aspects of GE Vernova's IT team and spend.
This role requires strategic input and oversight of all-encompassing category spend, developing strategies to reduce total cost of ownership - including vendor management, demand management, and governance/compliance - to achieve initial TCO reduction and ongoing year-over-year improvements, utilizing an understanding of industry trends to inform the decision-making process. This role will work with the IT Sourcing leadership to develop strategy, coordinate sourcing efforts, policies and tools and execute special initiatives. This role will also involve partnering with GE Vernova functional stakeholders in IT, Finance, Legal, Business Sourcing, Operations, Supply-Chain, Corporate, and other functions to drive TCO reduction while delivering excellent service levels to the organization.
The Strategic Initiatives Leader is a crucial role within GE Vernova, dedicated to enhancing cross-functional collaboration and driving continuous improvement in sourcing operations.
This position emphasizes the management of performance metrics, optimization of processes, and cultivation of an engaging team culture to boost organizational effectiveness. Acting as a key liaison between sourcing leadership and various departments, the lead ensures alignment and support for strategic goals. Responsibilities include overseeing metrics management and reporting, leading process improvement initiatives, managing contractor and spend activities, fostering team engagement, advising sourcing managers, and supporting ad-hoc projects. Through effective collaboration and operational oversight, the Strategic Initiatives Lead plays a vital role in enabling the sourcing team to achieve its strategic objectives.
Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities (What you will do):
- Measure and track internal performance (inflation and deflation and other KPIs) within each spend category
- Work with Indirect Sourcing Analytics team to manage bowler accuracy, then work with each Segment/BU to ensure transparent, timely reporting
- Establish processes to maintain an abundance of contractual data including MSAs, SOWs, order forms for easy access and use across Smartsheets, Box and SourceGate+
- Develop, share and drive best practices across the DT Sourcing team and within Indirect Sourcing
- Manage special initiatives such as software audits, identification and implementation of DT Sourcing tools and benchmarking sources
- Work with Vendor Management Office to develop processes to manage Sourcing demand requests (currently VMR tool)
- Manage Team meetings, content and special guests, ensure SharePoint site is updated with accurate and timely information
- Oversee DT Sourcing Lean Training Program
- Oversee team initiatives through implementation
- Work across business units to identify to unify and communize best practices for requisition creation and timing
- Drive demand management and compliance for other IT categories (e.g., number of application licenses, application alternatives, number and specs of personal devices, preferred vendor penetration)
- Serve as trusted advisor to multi-functional stakeholder teams to design and implement specific strategic sourcing initiatives to meet business requirements and priorities
- Lead and manage various contractors and/or employees to achieve objectives
Required Qualifications (What you will bring):
- Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
- Professional Experience: Major experience in IT, Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, or equivalent consulting experience.
- Leadership / Coordination Experience: Proven experience in managing teams directly or indirectly and demonstrating ability to lead large scale organizational, process, and culture changes
