The GE Vernova Power Transmission business line in Kassel, Germany, is part of a global network focused on providing advanced solutions for the efficient transmission of electrical power. This business line typically offers a variety of products such as high-voltage transformers, switchgear, and power cables, along with cutting-edge technologies that ensure the reliable functioning of electrical grids.

Your Mission: As Head of Service PM, YOU will lead and define the strategic execution of Service Projects; ensuring timely delivery, customer satisfaction, and budget adherence. This role includes robust operational processes, EHS, quality systems, and standardizes operating models & tools throughout the OTR (execution) cycle.

You will lead our GE Vernova portfolio across Germany & Benelux regions. The current team set up you will be leading is around 12 FTEs plus 7 contractors (and growing). Ideally, you are based close to Kassel, or willing to travel 2-times weekly to our site if based in other location.

Main Responsibilities & KPIs:

  • Customer communication and satisfaction
  • Sales pacing, respecting revenue recognition rules
  • Project portfolio reviews (around 100 - 200 projects)
  • Support to project execution, facilitate contact with Sales within the Region
  • Margin deviation monitoring and approval
  • Manage risk and opportunities
  • Cash collection (overdues, retention)
  • Consistency, alignment and efficiency across all direct departments
  • Reinforce PM competencies (communication, planning, cost assumptions, sales planning, contract management)
  • Continuous communication and delivery alignments across all departments including workshops
  • Improve contract management, with strong RoE (Return on Equity) about T&Cs of contracts

Main KPIs:

  • Quarterly sales, margins, cash-in and finished goods
  • Request kept, order overdues (shared with Global Supply Chain function)
  • Under / Over-recovery of the direct hours (ensure that all salaries, facility management costs, cars, tools are sufficiently covered through the overhead on the hourly rate)
  • Quality and Customer satisfaction KPIs

Key Requirements:

  • Technical graduate degree, such as production technology, process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant hands-on experience in similar tasks
  • At least 5-7 years of experience as a manager with personnel responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of Portfolio management, PM worklows, lean processes, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Product knowledge of our industry or/and High Voltage Products is highly valued (circuit breakers, hybrid switchgears and Instrument transformers)
  • Knowledge in the field of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) processes
  • Understanding and interpretation of business key performance figures
  • Fluency in English and German (written & spoken)
  • Outstanding cross-functional collaboration within matrix environments
  • Secure interpretation of regulations, standards and specifications
  • Secure handling of SAP (Focus on Project Management and Engineering)
  • Proficiency of MS Office applications (eg. Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Openness to national and international travels (around 15% yearly within the region)
