What impact you'll make
The Gas Turbine Reliability Engineer supports the reliability and mechanical integrity of steam turbines and associated plant equipment. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role assists in developing and executing reliability strategies, participating in failure investigations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career engineer to build deep technical expertise in rotating equipment and power plant reliability.
Job Description
What you'll do
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for steam turbines and plant auxiliary equipment.
- Collect and analyze equipment performance and maintenance data to identify failure trends and support reliability improvements.
- Assist with root cause failure analyses, corrective action tracking, and reporting of key reliability metrics.
- Maintain equipment records, BOMs, maintenance task libraries, and other CMMS documentation.
- Build working knowledge of steam turbine systems, auxiliaries, condition monitoring methods, and performance trending.
- Support senior engineers during inspections, outages, technical evaluations, and review of OEM manuals and maintenance procedures.
- Assist with outage preparation, field walk-downs, work package development, parts coordination, and NDT activity documentation.
- Follow plant safety, compliance, permit-to-work, risk assessment, JHA, and Management of Change requirements.
- Pursue technical development through training, mentorship, engineering reviews, and contributions to reports, presentations, and improvement projects.

What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Coursework or academic exposure to thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or rotating machinery.
- Familiarity with reliability or maintenance engineering concepts through work experience or academic projects

- Experience in power generation, industrial plant, utilities, or related field
- Some exposure to steam turbines, rotating equipment, or mechanical systems in an operational or maintenance environment
- Eager to learn with a strong curiosity about how equipment works
- Good analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively within a team
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a hands-on plant environment
- Organized and dependable - follows through on assigned tasks
- Receptive to feedback and coaching from senior engineers and mentors
