Job Description Summary

Supplier Quality Manager
As a Supplier Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Quality Engineers who support equipment & construction labor across the globe, including the verification of supplier quality deliverables as outlined in customer specifications and contracts. This role requires you to lead and direct the work load and support supplier quality needs as required with key supplier quality deliverables as noted here. You will be responsible for developing, managing the workload, and supporting the project quality engineers who support projects for various customers and with various equipment requirements to ensure equipment meets engineering specifications.

You will be responsible tow work with suppliers to ensure requirements are understood and delivered upon, including both supplier capability and quality responsibilities. This will include parts qualification, supplier capability and quality (assurance & control) responsibilities across supplier development, and monitoring activities. Overarching responsibilities include: supplier quality management, engineering quality assurance, non-conformance and corrective / preventative action planning, quality audits and compliance, continuous improvement & lessons learned, as well as documentation management.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier quality assurance and supplier development activities, including supplier qualification, part and process approvals, non-conformance management, corrective actions, and supplier performance improvement.
  • Develop and execute short- and mid-term supplier quality strategies in partnership with Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, and Construction.
  • Ensure compliance with supplier quality management system requirements, client specifications, applicable U.S. standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve supplier quality documentation, including Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, test reports, and inspection records.
  • Plan and conduct internal, supplier, and site quality audits.
  • Support design and technical reviews with a focus on constructability, quality risk identification, mitigation planning, traceability, and lessons learned.
  • Coordinate and/or perform factory inspections, supplier surveillance, and FAT witness activities for key equipment such as transformers, breakers, GIS, and protection systems.
  • Manage supplier deviation requests, root cause analysis, CAPA, and cost of poor-quality recovery activities.
  • Monitor and report key supplier quality metrics, including First Time Right, First Pass Yield, RCA completion, CAPA closure, aging, and supplier cost recovery.
  • Support digitization, simplification, dashboard reporting, and continuous improvement of supplier quality processes.
  • Ensure quality dossiers and related documentation are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, or Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Quality Management, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality management, engineering, or project quality within high-voltage substations, transmission & distribution, EPC, or large industrial/infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in supplier quality management, including supplier qualification, audits, non-conformance management, corrective actions, and supplier development.
  • Hands-on experience with factory inspections, FAT/SAT, field construction quality, and equipment quality oversight for engineered electrical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of applicable quality systems, customer specifications, and industry standards, including ISO 9001, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and NEC.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection requirements, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with core quality tools and systems, including root cause analysis, CAPA, NCR management, inspection and test planning, and supplier performance dashboards.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 90%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in U.S.-based EPC or large infrastructure projects.
  • Certified auditor or demonstrated experience performing internal and supplier audits.
  • Experience with supplier cost recovery, budget management, and quality-related financial impact tracking.
  • Ability to provide supplier training, coaching, and guidance on quality requirements and improvement plans.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
  • ASQ, PMI, or related certifications are preferred.

The base pay range for this position is $104,100.00 - 173,500.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
