Project Quality Manager
As a Project Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Project Quality Engineers who support a portfolio of projects for key customers, including identifying quality deliverables as outlined in customer specifications and contracts. This role requires you to lead and direct the workload and support projects as required with key quality deliverables as specified. You will be responsible for developing the project quality engineers who support projects for various customers and with various equipment requirements.
As a Lead, you will be responsible for the Quality segment of GSI NAM from inquiry to order, order to remittance, including closeout & warranty on projects. This includes identifying, developing, & delivering documented quality deliverables for the project to the customer & supplier whilst ensuring GSI NAM's Quality program is thoroughly represented in all offerings. Supporting the project through inspections and factory acceptance testing, including working closely with suppliers and sub-contractors to deliver equipment and construction requirements. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment and site work deliverables are identified and communicated with suppliers & subcontractors for the related project's scope of work. In this role, you will use your experience or expertise to develop and deliver on quality requirements, solve problems, influence a quality minded culture, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and be able to effect short-term and some long-term /business goals. You will ensure compliance to all quality requirements from Project Management process and GEV standards. You will foster Quality Assurance and Quality Control in all execution areas and assure we fulfill all contractual commitments provided to the Customer.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for centralized quality assurance and control activities for a given project or group of projects during Inquiry to Order (ITO) and Order to Remittance (OTR).
- Develop in-depth knowledge of technical discipline. Use prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- Use some level of judgment and have ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Use prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- Provide guidance to new team members and train on project & business level processes and tools
- Assist project managers in quality related matters; Ensure interface coordination between all stakeholders during ITO and OTR Project Life Cycle Phases
- Develop and ensure Project Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plan requirements are identified and complied with, including during ITO, OTR, and on project construction site & at supplier manufacturing sites (at different stages)
- Follow-up Project Key Indicators, set up action plans to be on track and sustain on track in case of deviations
- Manage Non-conformity for the project, including coordination with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal partners as well as managing continuous improvement and Lessons Learned for the project and functional responsibilities
- Perform RCA and Non-conformance management, including 8D and other tools such as Problem-Solving Reports, DMAIC, 5 why, fishbone, pareto methods
- Manage Customer complaints until full resolution; Manage Customer surveys including driving and implement improvement plans
- Participate in Project Reviews including Engineering and Procurement gate reviews, as well as risk mitigation discussions
- Support auditing and surveillance of subcontractor & supplier activities, managing onsite audits (project site & supplier sites), validation of quality plans from suppliers, and conducting project & process audits
- Develop and deliver quality related training and tools; become the Subject Matter Expert for designated equipment and quality tools / processes
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering discipline: Electrical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering or equivalent
- 5-10+ years in quality engineering within High-voltage substations or transmission & distribution projects
- Strong exposure to FAT/SAT and Field construction quality
- Familiar with applicable standards: IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NEMA
- 5+ years of Experience in managing people
- Tools: Dashboards, NCR/CAPA systems, Inspection and test planning, Root cause analysis tools such as 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone, 5 Why
- ASQ or PMI Certification - PMP, CPSQ, CQE, CMQ/OE, Basic and Advanced Quality Tools Experience
- Familiarity with Blueprint - Engineering Drawing, Schematics, One-Line Diagrams
- Technical and/or Equipment Experience such as transformers, switchgear, control panels, prefabricated / control buildings, welding, cabling, fabrication
- Good communicator
- Travel Requirements up to 75%
- Have the ability to drive and have a valid driver's license
• Desired:
- Experience in leading quality activities in EPC Projects
- Knowledge and experience of ISO9001 Standards and auditing
- Data Analysis - Paretos and Dashboards
- IT tool skills - Microsoft office, PowerBI, document control systems, non-conformance management systems, SAP, or similar
Physical Demands:
- Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. hot and/or cold
- Ability to climb ladders and stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach
- Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing when required
- Comfortable working around large, and energized equipment
The base pay range for this position is $118,400.00 - 197,100.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
