GridOS DDLR Project Engineer
Job Description Summary
The GridOS DDLR Project Engineer plays a key role in delivering GE Vernova's Digital Dynamic Line Rating solution for network operators. In this hands-on technical engineering role, you will deploy, configure, and validate Kubernetes-based components, helping customers enhance the reliability, visibility, and operational performance of their grid systems. You will collaborate directly with customer engineering, IT, and business application teams, as well as internal product stakeholders, to ensure accurate asset modelling, robust data ingestion, and stable production operation of the DDLR solution. This role combines systems deployment, integration engineering, and grid-domain knowledge to accelerate the energy transition
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and validate the DDLR application using Kubernetes, Helm charts, and containerized services.
- Execute end-to-end deployments across customer environments, including on-premise, hybrid, or cloud infrastructure, on Linux- and Windows-based platforms.
- Troubleshoot container execution, Helm configuration, networking, and platform service issues.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure and business application teams to guide and advise on complex deployments, including environments with limited Kubernetes expertise.
- Configure and validate network asset models and operational parameters used in Dynamic Line Rating calculations.
- Partner with customer EMS/ADMS, planning, or modelling teams to ensure alignment between source models and operational requirements.
- Investigate and resolve data quality issues involving telemetry, GIS, weather, asset metadata, or operational datasets.
- Implement, test, and validate integrations between software systems using service-oriented and event-driven architectures (REST APIs, messaging buses, middleware, file-based exchanges).
- Design and develop data workflows using modern programming languages (e.g., Kotlin, Python, or Java) to support secure, scalable, and maintainable data exchanges.
- Configure and verify data ingestion pipelines, ensuring accurate mapping of GIS, telemetry, and asset datasets.
- Work with internal teams to optimize workflow performance, handle transformations, and support operational monitoring.
- Capture, document, and translate customer requirements into clear engineering specifications and integration mappings.
- Guide customers toward out-of-the-box product capabilities while identifying where customization may be required.
- Provide concise progress updates and issue descriptions to both internal and customer leadership teams to ensure timely assignment of resources.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for deployments, data flows, interface mappings, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Contribute to enhancements in deployment automation, Helm templates, monitoring configurations, and standardized implementation patterns.
- Support CI/CD practices for container updates, test automation, and environment promotion when applicable.
