Job Description Summary

The Global Sourcing Commodity Leader - Construction, Capital Projects & Engineering Services is responsible for leading global sourcing strategy, governance, processes and tools across construction, capital projects, and engineering services. This role is critical to supporting business line growth by ensuring robust sourcing discipline, effective supplier and subcontractor governance, and strong contractual protections for project-related spend. This role will ensure the business has the right sourcing processes, tools, qualified suppliers and subcontractors, and contract protections in place to support growth, reduce risk, drive cost-competitive solutions, and enable effective project execution.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for construction services, engineering services, and capital project-related procurement
  • Execute sourcing initiatives focused on achieving SQDC objectives and deliver cost-competitive solutions in alignment with the Business Line imperatives
  • Own the subcontractor qualification process, including approval criteria, governance, ongoing performance review, and requalification as needed
  • Oversee ongoing governance of approved subcontractors, including periodic review, requalification, performance monitoring, and corrective action management.
  • Lead or support sourcing activities including RFQ development, bid evaluation, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract award
  • Ensure fit-for-purpose contract structures, templates, and commercial terms are in place to protect the business and mitigate financial and commercial risk
  • Partner with Legal and Contract Management to strengthen contractual protections and reduce exposure related to claims, delays, change orders, cost overruns, and supplier non-performance
  • Oversee CapEx-related sourcing activities and support execution of capital projects through strong supplier engagement, contracting and commercial oversight
  • Lead sourcing strategy and supplier management for engineering services, including engineering firms, design providers, consultants, and technical service suppliers
  • Support selection, engagement, and performance management of engineering service providers based on technical capability, quality, capacity, project experience, and commercial competitiveness
  • Lead or support negotiation of engineering service contracts, framework agreements, and statements of work to protect business interests and reduce financial and commercial risk
  • Promote best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement across regions and project teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field
  • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, construction procurement, project procurement, commodity management, or supply chain leadership
  • Strong experience in construction services, engineering services, and/or capital project-related procurement
  • Demonstrated experience in subcontractor qualification, supplier governance, or procurement process ownership
  • Strong contract negotiation, commercial risk management, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams

Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • CPSM, CIPS, PMP, or equivalent certification
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed environment
  • Experience in industrial, energy, power, infrastructure, manufacturing, or other project-intensive sectors
  • Familiarity with EPC/EPCM models, construction contracting approaches, and capital project execution
  • Experience with Sourcing, contract lifecycle management, and supplier qualification tools
