What impact you'll make
As a member of the Americas Inbound Flow Logistics team, you will be an active contributor to improving visibility, KPI reporting, and daily management of inbound logistics processes through enhanced OTM and Tableau-based tools, reporting structures, and standardized work instructions.
Job Description
As a Americas ITO Logistics Intern you will:
- Assist in developing logistics cost estimates for proposals and bids.
- Support the preparation of preliminary transportation plans, including truck, rail, ocean, heavy haul, and barge.
- Support spot quote requests with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Help build cost models and benchmarking tools.
- Create and validate packing lists and shipment assumptions.
- Research site access constraints, including road limits, permits, and transport requirements, and support rail clearance and route feasibility reviews.
- Compile documentation for special handling or oversized shipments and participate in gate reviews and internal proposal meetings.
- Coordinate with engineering, sourcing, and project management teams while tracking action items and maintaining estimate trackers.
- Analyze historical shipment costs, help standardize tools, templates, and databases, and identify process efficiencies and automation opportunities.

What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Currently pursuing a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, including modeling, pivot tables, and formulas.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete data.
- Interest in transportation/logistics and/or energy infrastructure.
What will make you stand out
- You have a passion for transportation strategy, logistics planning, and continuous improvement.
- You are someone who brings curiosity and a system-oriented mindset.
- You have experience with advanced modeling tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Python.
- You have familiarity with international shipping or freight terms, including Incoterms.
- You have an interest in heavy haul and oversized logistics, international freight strategy, proposal cost modeling, or large capital project logistics.
The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.
