GE Vernova Business Management Intern
Job Description Summary
The Business Interns on the Rotating Machines Renewal Parts team at GEPR Energy Canada Inc. in Peterborough, Ontario will work closely with team members across Commercial & Marketing, Engineering, Project Management, and Logistics. Interns will support projects related to spare parts for motors, generators, and controls, as well as continuous improvement and Lean initiatives, product marketing, data collection and analysis, and any other operational activities that support the team's day-to-day work.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Gather, scan, and review drawings, bills of materials (BoM), and other technical or operational documents to support daily activities.
• Collect, cleanse, consolidate, and analyze data that may involve lengthy manual work to support improvements in Parts/Services daily activities, including Inquiry to Quote (ITO) and Order to Remittance processes.
• Analyze sales and order information for various components and contribute to the creation and maintenance of databases used to assess pricing, cost, and margin trends.
• Review vendor quotations and related data to support price analysis and commercial decision-making.
• Analyze order and customer data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for process or business improvement.
• Prepare data and materials to support product and service marketing and communication campaigns.
• Provide timely support for urgent tasks across the Commercial & Marketing, Engineering, Project Management, and Logistics functions within the Renewal Parts team.
• Contribute to miscellaneous tasks and cross-functional initiatives as part of day-to-day team operations.
Required Skills and Capabilities
Candidates should demonstrate interest and capability in relevant business and/or engineering work. Useful qualifications include:
For Business / Commerce Students
• Academic background in business, commerce, financial accounting, financial analysis, marketing, data analysis, statistics, or data management.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in software tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, and related analytical tools).
• Ability to research, read, and learn from relevant documents in order to complete assigned projects and tasks effectively.
• Interest in technical documentation, engineering data, rotating machine parts, and cross-functional operational processes.
• Ability to review drawings, BoMs, and supporting technical documents.
• Willingness and ability to work across technical and business-related tasks as needed.
Education Requirements
Candidates must be currently pursuing an undergraduate degree and returning to full-time in-class studies after completion of the work term.
Eligible candidates include:
• Students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Computer Engineering (Level 1 to Level 4) from a Canadian university, preferably in Ontario.
• Students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business or Commerce (Level 1 to Level 3) from a Canadian university, preferably in Ontario.

This opportunity is intended for students who will return to their in-class studies following the completion of the work term in Fall 2026. It is not intended for candidates who will have graduated before the start of the position.
