Job Description Summary
The Gage Engineer will be responsible for tracking gages, maintaining gage calibration records and tracking/improving Gage Lab effectiveness. Working with the production team, the Gage Engineer will help to determine the proper gages for an operation. Acceptability of the gages for use will be evaluated by completing a thorough Gage R&R analysis. This role will be instrumental for our team to meet our quality standards and make process improvements.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for Gage Lab compliance with ISO 9001 standard.
- Maintain and optimize gage schedules of internal and external gage calibrations.
- Determine essential gages that require duplicates to prevent interruption to production.
- Calculate and track Gage Lab KPIs to measure the efficiency of Gage Lab services in support of the production teams.
- Assist production team and NPI with gage R&R studies to determine acceptance of inspection methods.
- Take ownership of Indysoft system. Serve as administrator and provide training.
- Complete in-house calibrations on gages as needed to meet production demands.
- Work with production MEs to streamline gage list with the goal of reducing gage list to only those required for the task.
- Provide production support to reduce overdue gages and to pull gages from floor within 30 days of being due.
- Maintain and improve Gage Lab processes and documentation to increase lab effectiveness.
- Serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience with gage selection and evaluation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 6 years of professional work experience
- Minimum of 2 year of relevant manufacturing experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Black Belt Certification / Lean experience
- Experience with Build-In-Quality tools... PFMEA / Control Plans / Root Cause Analysis (4D, 8D)
- Ability to plan, document, and execute improvement projects
- Experience with GE systems... IndySoft
- Ability to plan, communicate and execute to plan independently
- Effective at managing multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and accuracy

- This position is 100% onsite at our GE Vernova Greenville, SC site

Relocation Assistance Provided: No
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $75,400.00 and $113,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
