Finance Specialist - Stat & Tax Operations
Job Description Summary
Responsible for driving technical accounting and stat & tax compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and tax reporting and analysis. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Focused on execution of standard enabling activities/provision of advice subject to policy and work routines within an enabling discipline. There may be some latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing situations.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure that all statutory and tax regulatory filings are completed promptly, efficiently, and in accordance with the country's regulatory requirements. This encompasses branches, legal entities, and statutory consolidations outside the US, as well as managing the statutory audit process when applicable.
- Participate in the STAT and Tax Wing to Wing process to enhance productivity and eliminate wasted time.
- Prepare documentation for G2S adjustments and financial statements for APAC region entities, ensuring alignment with local statutory requirements.
- Provide ongoing compliance services, which include assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts, executing the statutory audit process, preparing consolidations, and resolving accounting issues.
- Prepare corporate income tax provisions for various businesses/divisions, compile annual RTA, conduct ASC740 and ETR analyses, validate tax balance sheet accounts, and coordinate with businesses and local tax teams regarding valuation allowances and FIN48 reserve analyses.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders (Operational Controllership, Service Ops Finance, FP&A, and external parties) to address statutory and tax compliance issues.
- Communicate with business tax teams regarding tax assessments related to other statutory and/or regulatory rules.
- Support the simplification and standardization of statutory and tax operations across processes and assigned countries, and participate in projects related to direct tax as needed (e.g., audit preparation, process improvement, acquisitions/disposals, new SAP deployment).

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent international qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in finance and statutory work.
- Experience in a global role, collaborating across different regions, preferably within one of GE's industrial businesses.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and the Legacy GE Suite (eCompliance, TLS, S-HFM, etc.).
- Ability to identify processes and activities for improvement.
- Experience and capability in applying LEAN principles are preferred.

- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, and respond swiftly.
- Established project management skills.
- Preference will be given to current employees in Gas Power Finance.
