Field Services Buyer

Job Description Summary
As a member of the Services Sourcing team, you will be responsible to manage the buying process for a given set of goods / services. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier / contractor and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team.

Your Role:

Key deliverables for this role are as under :

• Develop a robust field services contractor panel and own the end -to- end ownership of its execution in ITO and OTR phases
• Negotiate best deals for the business to win new jobs and subsequently delivery required deflation in OTR phase to improve the margins.
• Manage to synchronize day to day activities by these empaneled contractors in OTR phase by settling daily issues cropping up in project sites by close coordination between GE project and site representatives and the contractor.
• Manage the HR Clearances - Tracking / Monitoring and following up with vendors to complete and providing HR clearances to GEPIL which enable us to complete contractual obligation of Customer.
• Manage the Claim Management : Settling of Idle time Claim / Extra work claims with Vendors keeping in loop all internal stake holders such as Field service leaders / Project Manager and Sourcing leaders Tracking of vendor payment , resolving vendor payment issues with AP team
• In nutshell analyze - Scope of work, contractual obligations and understanding customer needs and aligning vendors as per them identifying risk, opportunities, potential changes, claims and market forces during the entire project together with cross functional teams.
• Manage the buying process for a given set of goods. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
• Place and follow-up on POs. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Manage problems and schedule changes. Update ERP.
• Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
• Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues outside of defined parameters.
• Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding .
• Handles simple data entry work requiring face value check and correction

Required Qualifications

• This role requires basic experience in the Sourcing & Buying-Procurement. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience) with at-least 3-4 years of work experience

Desired Characteristics

• Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
