Job Description
Field Service electrical engineer, key functions include reactive maintenance, planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and delivery of time critical installation and commissioning activities. Ensuring Successful completion of projects and service tasks to time and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for installation, maintenance and commissioning of drives (HV and LV) and PLC based automation systems on industrial sites both nationally and globally.
- Respond to customer break downs and manage/perform diagnostic and repair activities.
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance activities on customer sites, both nationally and globally.
- Read and mark up equipment drawings and circuit diagrams in preparation for formal drawing office updates.
- Identify further opportunities to increase revenue whilst conducting jobs on customer sites.
- Be part of a 24/7 call out rota supporting key service contract customers, including remote support as well as travelling to customer sites to perform diagnosis and repair activities if required.
- Work to company specified procedures.
- Carry out all mandatory company training and obtain/maintain other competence related qualifications as required.
- Provide timely and professional site reports as directed.
- Comply with UK, Company and Customer EHS legislations and propose improvements where required.
- Compile Risk Assessments and Method Statements in preparation for customer site visits.
- Be comfortable working alone as well as working as part of a larger team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in electrical and/or power electronics engineering (or similar relevant discipline).
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship/Higher National Certificate in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
- Demonstrable understanding of electronic and electrical engineering drawings
- Experienced with PC/PLC equipment.
- Experienced with variable speed drives
- Good communication skills both verbal and written in English.
- Self-motivated, Dynamic and flexible.
- Able to work alone or with others, with minimal support, in a customer facing environment.
- Flexible attitude to working pattern is required.
- Willing and eligible to work world-wide and offshore.
