Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Today Rugby, United Kingdom

Job Description Summary
GE Vernova's Power Conversion & Storage business delivers advanced electrification systems that support the critical power and energy requirements of high-performance applications worldwide. Working with leading organisations across the energy, defence, maritime, and industrial sectors, we help accelerate the transition to a more efficient, lower-carbon future. Our solutions address significant requirements in power stability, energy storage, grid resilience, and renewable energy integration.

As the EHS Manager you will lead the site's proactive safety shifting the focus from reactive incident response to predictive risk prevention. Your primary objective is the systemic elimination of hazards before they reach the shop floor. You will have a visible presence on the factory floor, engaging daily with production teams to observe processes in situ and coaching operators to own their safety environment.

Job Description

Partnering closely with operations leadership you will align EHS initiatives with production scheduling. In this capacity, you will demonstrate how safe, disciplined processes drive higher quality, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve manufacturing velocity. You will oversee robust investigations, ensuring that root-cause analysis is thorough and leads to meaningful, permanent corrective actions that prevent recurrence. This is a practical, influential role for a leader who is equally comfortable coaching a team on risk reduction as they are presenting performance data to senior leadership.

  • Risk Management: Lead initiatives for complex industrial operations, including electrical safety, heavy lifting, and working at height.
  • Incident Ownership: Lead the site's proactive safety architecture-shifting the focus from reactive incident response to predictive risk prevention and the systemic elimination of hazards before they reach the shop floor.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Liaise with external bodies (HSE, Environment Agency) and internal leadership to ensure total organizational buy-in.
  • Lean Integration: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to integrate Lean methodologies into EHS processes, reducing waste and boosting operational efficiency.
