Application of the Motion Amplification technology in the validation of a Wind Turbine

Test and Validation has the hardware (camera, tripods, auxiliaries) to apply the Motion Amplification technology, which is a new technology for vibration measurement in rotational machines, such as a Wind Turbine drive train. The purpose of this request is to understand how the hardware works and, together with design engineers, propose a real case in which that technology could be applied providing benefits with respect to traditional vibration measurement systems (accelerometers)

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Apply Motion Amplification technology to visualize and analyze wind turbine components.
  • Set up and calibrate Motion Amplification equipment for optimal performance. The equipment will be ready at the office for this purpose
  • Capture high-speed video data using Motion Amplification technology.
  • Develop and refine test protocols incorporating Motion Amplification techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other departments to ensure alignment on validation goals.
  • Communicate results to stakeholders through presentations and meetings.
  • Keep abreast of changes in standards and best practices related to wind turbine validation and Motion Amplification technology.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Fluent in English with working efficiency
  • Skills in data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, FAMOS)
  • Knowledge in DAQ (measurement instrumentation, data recorders, etc.)
  • Good command of MS Office
  • Fluent in calculation tools such as Matlab, Python or Famos
  • Active University student status
  • Preference start date: February 2026 (but no later than April 2026)
  • Work style: full time in presence work at the Barcelona office is required
