Job Description Summary
Role summary/purpose
Reporting to the GridBeats Hardware Platform Leader, the Hardware FPGA Engineer is mainly responsible for designing FPGA modules for the different HW platforms globally, including maintaining and improving existing designs, investigations and troubleshooting.
The successful candidate will be a team player working with a cross-functional team including hardware design, systems engineering, software development, program and project management to deliver best in class products for the global market.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Electronics Hardware design with emphasis on FPGA
- Design and verification of FPGA modules
- Create detailed specification of FPGA designs for modules
- Collaborate with other engineers on architecture definition activities
- Document and maintain FPGA design process documentation
- Contribute to Hardware design reviews related to FPGA
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, project manager, to achieve project goals
- Perform troubleshooting using debug tools
- Support production and customer support with root cause analysis

Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or related field
- Experience with digital hardware design
- Minimum 3 years' experience with FPGA design activities
- Experience with Quartus, Vivado and Diamond
Desired characteristics
- Experience with SoC based designs
- Proficiency with VHDL
- Knowledge of Tcl and python languages
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing complex engineering challenges
- Familiar with digital signal processing and filter design theory
- Good verbal and written communication stills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between 79,000 CAD and 129,000 CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: Discretionary annual bonus
