Job Description Summary

You will be responsible for maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control systems on plant. You will perform routine maintenance, inspection, testing, repairs, troubleshooting on plant to meet site targets for plant availability, safety, environmental and quality compliance.

Job Description

Main Duties

  • Responsible for implementation and feedback on preventative maintenance work, defect rectification and project work relating to rotating and stationary electrical, control and instrumentation plant and maintenance equipment.
  • Production of maintenance procedures and contractor work scopes.
  • Assist in planning all outages and liaise with Operations department to ensure safety documentation available when required.
  • Preparing, submitting, and amending risk assessment and method statements for EC&I works to be carried out by the employee or contractors working on his/her behalf.
  • Obtaining spare parts from local, national, and international suppliers in line with site quality procedures.
  • Supervision of contractor personnel to ensure all work is technically correct and in accordance with site safety, environmental and quality procedures.
  • Reporting to the EC&I Maintenance Supervisor on the progress of their work and provide justified reasons for incomplete or delayed work to provide for more accurate forecasting and planning.
  • Update of documentation of work order records and reports using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS, Maximo).
  • To perform fault/trip analysis and troubleshooting of all types of MV/LV switchgear's, motor control centres, lighting circuits and other auxiliaries of electrical and control equipment on his/her own or as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Participate in the quality or safety committees required to maintain the site's quality, safety, and environmental management systems. To carry out maintenance activity as and when required.

Responsibility

  • Controls/Electrical and Instrumentation equipment and tooling in a shared situation.
  • Supervision of contract work and personnel.
  • Update of the CMMS system in a timely, detailed, and accurate fashion.
  • To be on call - in conjunction with other team members - over evenings and weekends in case of emergency work is required.

Qualification and skills required

  • Advanced Craft Certificate in Electrical, Electrical Instrumentation or Instrumentation or a similar qualification from an accredited institution
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, circuits
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and piping and instrumentation drawings
  • Strong problem- solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and respond to emergencies
  • Power plant experience is a benefit
  • Proficient in the use of computer and Microsoft Office
  • A CompEx certification would be an advantage
